Q: Why is it named Winged Nike Top?

A: Inspired and named after the magnificent statue, Winged Victory of Samothrace (also referred to as Winged Nike), the top has dramatic draping cascading from the left shoulder to right hip just like the masterpiece, located in the Louvre, has impressive draping detailing. It's theorized that the Winged Victory was once placed at the prow of the ship, overlooking the sanctuary of the Great Gods on the island of Samothrace, as stated in the Louvre's official website. If you should happen to be in France or if you're planning a trip, make sure to visit the glorious artwork displayed in the museum.
